The allied side of the same chokepoint map: who physically controls the rails of intelligence (signals/satellites), compute (HBM/chips), data (subsea cables), and the Arctic frontier. The AI-core's machine-verified "11-firm circular loop" silently assumes all of these stay open; each is a single-point dependency outside the firms' control.
Australia — the Five-Eyes signals keystone (+ rare earths)
Pine Gap (Alice Springs) controls US spy satellites covering ~⅓ of the globe — China, North Korea, Asian Russia, the Middle East — and Snowden's documents tie it to ECHELON / XKEYSCORE mass surveillance and to US strike targeting, reportedly including the 2026 Iran war via the joint bases (fact). On materials/defense: AUKUS (A$310M to the UK in Feb 2026 for SSN-AUKUS long-lead items; 3 Virginia-class + 5 SSN-AUKUS; Trump accelerating) is now explicitly linked to a US–Australia critical-minerals / rare-earths framework (Oct 2025); Australia took ~45% of global REE exploration spend in 2024 (Lynas, macro-critical-minerals-equities). South Korea — the allied compute chokepoint

This is "the memory chokepoint" behind the entire AI stack (fact). Strategically, Trump approved South Korea developing nuclear submarines (Gyeongju summit, President Lee Jae-myung), a watershed that could pull Seoul and its chip base toward AUKUS supply chains — offset against the DPRK threat (spec-unc-nk-attribution-map). Japan — two chokepoints at once

The classification. Two axes order it — substitutability × speed. The unrecoverable + fast losses are Korea HBM and Taiwan logic/packaging: no alternative on the build's timeline, and a stop there stops the core — not a markdown, a halt. Singapore cables are recoverable (reroutable). REE/HALEU slow-burn (constrain, not halt). The Japan/carry channel is the one that transmits as a pure financial shock (funding cost) rather than a physical stop. The 11-firm loop silently assumes every one stays open — and the two most catastrophic have no near-term substitute.
The pattern
