World Liberty Financial + USD1 - the Trump-family stablecoin and its conflict web
This deepens the existing World_Liberty_Financial node into its USD1 stablecoin and the MGX / Binance / UAE nexus. The map records documented ties + labeled concerns; it makes no adjudicated legal claim and takes no partisan position.
The venture (fact; figures reported/vary)
- WLFI - a DeFi venture co-founded by Donald Trump + his three sons, debuted Oct 2024; ~$550M WLFI-token sale. A Trump-family LLC reportedly owns ~38% of WLFI and is entitled to 75% of WLFI token proceeds (reported ~$1B realized + ~$3B unsold by Dec 2025 - estimates that shift over time).
- USD1 - a USD-deposit + T-bill-backed stablecoin, launched Mar 2025; grew ~$3B (Dec 2025) -> ~$4.6B (Apr 2026), reported the fastest-growing stablecoin ever. Growth was largely non-organic (deal-driven, Binance-concentrated).
The MGX / Binance / UAE loop
- MGX (Abu Dhabi state-backed fund) used ~$2B of USD1 to settle a minority investment in Binance - reportedly the largest crypto-settled investment ever - announced at Token2049 Dubai (1 May 2025) by Zach Witkoff with Eric Trump and Justin Sun. MGX cited "compliance history," though USD1 was then brand-new (noted as ironic).
- Per WSJ, lieutenants of Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed signed to acquire ~49% of WLFI for ~$500M (~Jan 2025). Tahnoon chairs MGX and G42 - closing the UAE <-> WLFI <-> MGX <-> Binance loop. Subsequent US approval of advanced-chip exports to the UAE drew emoluments-clause concerns from legal experts (a contested legal opinion, not a finding).
- USD1 supply is heavily concentrated at Binance (~$4.7B in Binance accounts as of early 2026; exchange-vs-customer split unclear). Trump also pardoned Binance founder CZ (Oct 2025) - a separate but adjacent fact already on the map.
Why it's on the map
USD1 puts a sitting president's family on the issuer side of the same stablecoin-Treasury rail as USDC/USDT/Arc/Tempo - and the WLFI ethics language (targeting the President's ~$1.4B crypto income) was one of the three disputes that stalled CLARITY at the failed 15 Sep 2026 cloture (spec-clarity-act-chronology). A reported Apr 2026 episode - WLFI using ~5B of its own governance tokens as collateral to borrow ~$75M from a platform whose co-founder is a WLFI advisor - drew "FTX-circular" comparisons (reported + interpretation).
Honest limits
Deals, dates, ownership %, and the MGX settlement are documented fact (dollar/profit figures are reported estimates that vary). The emoluments characterization is legal-experts' opinion (contested); the FTX-circular comparison is reported + interpretation; Senate (Warren et al.) probes are inquiries, not findings. No wrongdoing is asserted here.
