Quiet money (batch 13): quiet biometric & digital-ID / age-verification vendor fortunes

The map's Digital-ID thread names the mandates (UK Online Safety Act, EUDI, foundations, WEF). This batch adds the quiet vendor fortunes underneath them - the firms that profit from identity-gating.

Biometric identity

• Caryn Seidman-Becker -> CLEAR - a low-profile founder-CEO running CLEAR (Alclear; NYSE: YOU), biometric lanes at airports + venues (~30M+ members enrolled by face/iris/fingerprint), now expanding into general identity, age, and healthcare verification. One of the largest private consumer biometric databases - the honeypot-concentration concern the identity thread flags.

Government identity proofing

• Blake Hall -> ID.me - identity-proofing embedded across the IRS, VA, SSA, and state unemployment systems. Used facial recognition (initially effectively mandatory for IRS login); after 2022 backlash it added a human-verification option and walked back some 1:many matching claims - the archetypal "convenience vs surveillance" fight in government identity.

The verification-vendor market

• Persona (Founders Fund / Thiel-network backed) - identity + age-verification; the age-verification-abolition block flags such pipelines as combining ID capture, watchlist screening, and biometric retention.
• Socure - large identity-verification + fraud-scoring vendor to banks, fintechs, and government.
• Onfido -> Entrust - Entrust acquired Onfido (2024), consolidating AI document + selfie biometric age-assurance ahead of UK OSA / EU rules. A core supplier to the age-gating regimes.

Honest position (not an endorsement)

These vendors' ownership, contracts, and products are fact. The map's stance on the use case is unchanged and explicit: age/identity verification is rejected as a category - futile-under-breach, a predator honeypot, and adult surveillance by construction, and ZK does not save it (see age-verification-abolition). Mapping who profits is not endorsing a "better mechanism"; concentrating biometrics in these vendors deepens the honeypot rather than removing the attacker. No cabal is imputed - these are competing firms - but the throughline is a method: quiet capital monetizing identity-gating.
